Succeeding Salvatore Maccarone as Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo Vita, Luigi Maranzana has spent his entire career in the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, both in Italy and abroad.

The BoD expressed its sincerest appreciation to Salvatore Maccarone, who has moved to the Fondo Interbancario, emphasising his human and professional qualities and wishing him all the best in his new position, a role of great responsibility for the entire banking system.

"Chairman Salvatore Maccarone's contribution to the development of Intesa Sanpaolo Vita's activities was crucial – comments Gianemilio Osculati, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Vita – and I am certain that his presence at the Fondo Interbancario will represent a guarantee for everyone". "I would like to express the gratitude of the entire company as well as my own personal appreciation to Professor Maccarone - continues Osculati - for having had the chance to work alongside an excellent professional. We would also like to offer a very warm welcome to the new Chairman, Luigi Maranzana, who will ensure that we continue to operate at the very highest levels".

"I would like to thank the Group for this new opportunity and express my delight at being appointed to this role. I am glad to be able to work alongside old friends and professional colleagues" – remarks Luigi Maranzana. "I shall work as hard as I can to contribute to the future development of the Company within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group".
